Information We Collect

Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and profile information provided through your authentication provider.

Bill Data: When you upload a bill, we process the image or PDF to extract billing information. Your uploaded bill files are stored securely and kept only so you can view and re-negotiate them later. They are permanently deleted when you delete the bill or your account.

Usage Data: We collect anonymized usage data to improve the Service, including pages visited and features used.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: provide and improve the Service, generate bill negotiation scripts, process payments, communicate with you about your account, and comply with legal obligations.

Data Sharing & Service Providers

We do not sell your personal information. We share data with the following third-party service providers only as needed to run the Service:

• Clerk (authentication) — your name, email, and login credentials, to create and secure your account.
• Stripe (payments) — your payment details and purchase records, to process transactions and manage subscriptions. We never store full card numbers ourselves.
• Convex (application database & file storage) — stores your account data and the bill images/PDFs you upload, so the Service can function.
• Anthropic (AI provider, “Claude”) — receives your bill content to generate negotiation scripts. We send bill details only, without your name, email, or payment identifiers.
• Google Maps Platform — if you purchase the Savings Hub, the ZIP code you enter is sent to Google to find nearby stores and local deals. This is only used for that feature.
• Sentry (error & performance monitoring) — collects crash reports, performance data, and, only when an error occurs, a session replay. All replay content is fully masked (text, form inputs, and media are hidden), so your bill data is never captured. Sentry loads only if you accept analytics cookies (see Cookies below).
• Rewardful (affiliate referral tracking) — if you arrive through an affiliate link, sets a referral cookie so we can credit the referrer at checkout. It loads only if you accept marketing cookies (see Cookies below).

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication, and regular security reviews.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting smithappsupport@gmail.com. You may delete your account and all associated data through your account settings.

Cookies

Essential cookies are always active: they keep you signed in (Clerk), remember your theme preference, and store your cookie-consent choice. The Service cannot work without them.

Optional analytics & marketing cookies load only if you select “Accept all” in our cookie banner. These power Sentry (error monitoring and masked crash session replays) and Rewardful (affiliate referral attribution). If you choose “Essential only,” these are not loaded and no analytics or marketing cookies are set. You can decline at any time, and non-essential trackers stay off until you opt in.
